Growing Our Faith

As the church, we enjoy coming together as a family of faith. On this journey together, we meet together to learn, to worship, and to enjoy the gift of fellowship.

Our Christian Education program offers classes for all ages from infants through adults. These classes meet each Sunday, from September through June, at 9:15 a.m. Our children's classes offer Bible stories, music, crafts and activities. Adults can choose from five classes, which include Bible studies, faith issues, and discussions of current events.

1st-6th grade children are gathered with their faith family in worship, at least through the Children’s Message every Sunday. Children stay for the whole service on Family Sunday’s (4th Sunday of the month) when classes take turns leading the liturgy. 7th grade and older always stay for the whole service.

A two-year preparation for Confirmation program equips our middle school youth through a time of examining faith issues and church and denominational history. Each confirmation student also works closely with a mentor.

High school-aged youth have both a Sunday morning class and a Sunday evening Youth Fellowship program. They enjoy fellowship together in social activities, service projects, and a yearly mission trip.

Summer activities include a week-long Vacation Church School held at the church, and Camp Bethany, a week-long sleep-over camp where our children enjoy Bible stories, recreation and crafts. A variety of camping programs for all ages are offered through the UCC Outdoor Ministries.

A highlight of each fall is the Annual Family Retreat, a time of fun and fellowship for all ages held early each fall. There are stories and songs around the campfire, worship services, crafts, and time to walk and talk together in the woods.

Small group activities include weekday Bible studies, a hiking group, a book discussion group, a golf league, Women's Fellowship, and a variety of fellowship activities.

Through our partnership with New Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, we join together in presenting a yearly Just Peace Concert each January. There are also youth retreats, dismantling-racism discussion groups, Bible study, and fellowship activities.
