Bethany Church was founded in 1917 with this mission:

to establish a Christian congregation for worship,
to preach and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ,
to celebrate the sacraments,
to render loving service toward humanity,
to strive for righteousness, justice, and peace,
to advance the realm of God at home and abroad.

Bethany UCC, and the United Church of Christ in general, is a mainline denomination comparable in its understanding of God and the Bible to other denominations such as Methodist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, and Episcopal. We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God and we support and encourage the unique spiritual journey of each individual.
